The Market at JW Marriott in Bogota

The JW Marriott hotel, in Bogota’s northern financial district, now has four restaurants. That turns it into a bit of a gourmet food plaza in its own right. Touring the cuisines of the world, you can choose from:

  • NAU Sushi Lounge
  • Circo Pizza
  • Tamarine
  • The Market

The latest edition to the family is The Market, which as its name suggests is trying to focus on fresh, healthy ingredients.

THE MARKET Salad JW Marriott

Perhaps the most intriguing ingredient at The Market is flexibility. You can personalize your meals. Choose the ingredients you want.  So your hamburger, sandwich, wrap, pizza, pasta, or salad can be just the way you want it.

Part of the menu is in chart form, with long lists of ingredients. To build your sandwich, you choose from nine breads (including rye, ciabatta and pita), 13 meats (pastrami, prosciutto, smoked salmon), 11  cheeses (feta, Manchego, Cheddar, 10 sauces and 12 vegetables for COP$26,000.

The pasta section has an equally long list of six pasta types, seven sauces, 11 meats, 10 vegetables and 13 cheeses. It also costs COP$26,000.

You can design your gourmet hamburger, too, with a similar list of ingredients, from Angus or lamb to salmon. There’s also a Portobello option if you’re looking to go meat-free. They cost COP$28,000.

There are also soups, salads, and ceviches. The open kitchen invites you in to get curious about how your lunch or dinner is being made. Pizzas are made in the wood fired oven. There’s the salad bar lunch time from Monday to Friday.

And The Market is open 24 hours. So whatever time you get in from a delayed flight, or however late you were out with your friends, you know you can get something hot and delicious here.
